Installation permits
Are you doing electrical or gas work? Or putting in large pressure vessels, new amusement devices, or passenger ropeways? Installation permits are likely required prior to operating this regulated equipment. Maintenance, testing, and repairs may also require a permit.
The importance of an installation permit
Each installation permit is assessed by Technical Safety BC to confirm that the equipment and systems you plan to install meets safety guidelines, and will be performed by qualified individuals. The information you submit also informs Technical Safety BC’s oversight on your equipment and others in the province similar to yours. We will notify you of any hazards or trends relevant to you, helping to protect your investment, and helping inform your decisions to keep you and your workers safe.
It is also your legal obligation to obtain an installation permit when installing regulated equipment and systems, according to the Safety Standards General Regulations.
