Electrical Permits
A permit is a form of permission that allows a person to perform regulated work, or operate regulated equipment as authorized by the applicable regulations in their field of expertise. A permit is normally associated with a specific person and site.
There are two types of electrical permit: installation and operating. Each section provides steps to obtain your permit.
If you do not obtain a permit when required by law to do so, you may face consequences that range from a warning to a monetary penalty or prosecution.
Municipalities not covered by Technical Safety BC for electrical permits
